Baldrick does Ballistics

"I have a cunning plan M'lord. I have mounted an eBay 3MOA Red Dot sight on my SKS:

Ballistic shooting software freeware free reloading Left we have the 3MOA red dots, and the point of impact for 30 yards, 50 yards, 100 yards, 160 yards and 200 yards.

I used the top of the red dot as my zero at 100 yards, so the bottom of the red dot works as a point of aim at 200 yards. Between 31 yards and 200 yards I can shoot into a 3MOA circle, 3" at 100 yards, 6" at 200 yards.

Also, my Point Blank Range program says with a 196 yard zero I can shoot out to 227 yards with all the shots within +/- 3".

Inexplicably, Baldrick's maths and graphics are correct. But he makes one tiny assumption, which is of course, wrong.
